Still, my goal of losing weight is still elusive. Having a father that passed away at the age of 54 isn't lost on me. I know that if I don't get ahold of my health I'll never be able to enjoy my later years. Spark Martial Arts has launched a six week weight loss challenge starting November 13th, and I'm participating. Currently, I'm teaching the class Monday, Wednesday and Fridays at 6AM in Hayward. My goal is not only to teach the students, but lead by example. I weighed in at 214 lbs, the heaviest I've been in a couple of years. My goal is to be under 200 lbs when the challenge is complete. It think this is attainable in 6 weeks, but ultimately I want to be 180 lbs. I've found that the Weight Watchers app seems to fit my lifestyle. I say lifestyle because dieting simply isn't attainable. Who is going to eliminate carbs from their diet forever? Weight Watchers allows me to eat what I want, but be accountable for doing so.
Let's see what the next six weeks has in store.
